With these small-scale, cut paper collages of prairie grass root systems, I have begun a new inquiry inspired by time spent in remnants of Midwestern tallgrass prairies.

These pieces are studies of what is essentially an enormous, invisible, life-sustaining network that existed underground across thousands of square miles, a network that is largely a memory now.
